Harvest Notes for October 11th – and Farm Day!

The Harvest Notes are available.  If you go to Farm Day, consider posting photos on our Facebook page or email them to use to post here.  Thanks!

Don’t forget that Fall Farm Day is on Sunday, October 14th.  Some of the Core Group are going and several members have said they enjoy seeing the farm and the goats, meeting the farmers, and all the activities.

For this week’s harvest, the farmers say we are likely to get kale, radishes, hot peppers, acorn squash, and onions, with a 50% chance of getting arugula, salad mix, cabbage, cilantro, beets, bok choi, broccoli raab, and jester squash.  Both squashes are great cut in half, seeds removed (save these for toasting), and baked with a bit of butter or margarine and a touch of maple syrup or brown sugar.  Add a sprinkle of cinnamon if you like.
