Harvest Notes for September 13th – L’Shanah Tovah!

The Harvest Notes are posted with explanations of the different heat levels between the jalapenos and cayenne peppers, the harvesting of onions, and how to prepare the delicata squash that are the first of the many types of winter squash we will be enjoying.

L’Shanah Tovah to everybody from the Core group and the farmers!  May y’all be written for a healthy, happy, and wonderful 5773.

The farmers say that we are likely to receive green peppers, sweet peppers, potatoes, onions, hot peppers, and summer squas or zucchini.  There is a 50% chance of carrots, beets, kale, collards, tomatillos, eggplant, napa cabbage, sage, and/or basil.

REMEMBER that there will be Dairy and Salty/Sweet shares this week.  Also, this is the last week for flower shares.

We’ve tried a different setup of the bins to make it easier for each share to get their proper portions.  Please let us know what you think!

ALSO:  We need plastic grocery bags, which are used to deliver the leftover veggies to the Kosher Food Pantry.  Please remember to bring your ownbags for all veggies, including bags for item that are weighed or measured such as tomatoes, tomatillos, and greens (once they are back in deliveries).
