Harvest Notes for July 5th & Flower Shares

The Harvest Notes are up!  Don’t pass up the cabbages – they are great for slaws and other cold salads that stand up in the heat, whether you use last week’s Chinese/Napa Cabbage or the ones offered this week.  Try some different ones by clicking the links for recipes.

Flower shares start this week!  You will see the bucket of bouquets when you come to pick up your veggie share.  The farmers think that you are likely to get Broccoli, Carrots, Garlic Scapes, Green Cabbage, Kale, Kohlrabi, Lettuce, and Salad Mix.  Have you wondered whether Salad Mix really grows that way?  It does!

One of our Core Group Volunteers went to a retreat at the Isabella Freedman Retreat Center this weekend, and was able to take a tour of the fields.  Look for a writeup of the trip and more pictures later this week.
